Scratch and Help Online is the online version of the successful scratch and help fundraising booklet that lets people
play Scratch and Help over the internet from all over the country and the world so you can raise ever more money
quickly and effectively.

The way it works is simple.

1. We set you up with a personalised 'Online Scratchy' page like this one.
2. You promote that page as much as you possibly can.
3. People can pick up the virtual coin and scratch the virtual circles to make a donation to your group.
4. When they are finished scratching, they can pay either by credit card or via direct deposit.
5. The person gets to write a message of support which appears on your 'Online Scratchy' page for all to see.
6. You get notification that someone has made a deposit.

Scratch and Help Online Frequently Asked Questions

Who can raise money with Scratch and Help Online?
The same as our real booklets, however it is probably suited to groups larger than 20, or groups that have access to quite a few people.

How do people go to our Scratchy Page?
When your campaign begins, we will send you an intro email which contains a link to your Online Scratchy page. All you need to do is tell as many people as possible about it and encourage them to make a contribution by scratching off a few dots.

You can email, phone, text, hand out flyers, get a radio mention, and many other methods of promoting your Scratchy Page.

How much does it cost?
For groups that order 20 or more Scratch and Help fundraising booklets (the real booklets pictured on our homepage) we offer a free campaign set up which is valued at $150.

Are there any fees?

Like our booklets, we are proud to be able to offer a fundraising product that lets the fundraisers keep most of the
funds for their cause.

Set up fee: $150 (waived if you purchase 20 scratch and help booklets)

Admin fee:There are two admin fee structures which are dependant on the final amount of money raised during the campaign period.

1. Campaigns that raise less than $300 in Scratch and Help Online funds:
A flat $75 admin fee.

2. Campaigns that raise over $300 in Scratch and Help Online funds:
15% of total funds raised + 50cents for each individual transaction.

These fees cover the administration and processing fees associated with this system.

How do supporters make payments once they have finished scratching?
There are two payment methods that your supporters can choose from.

1. Credit card - We have a fully secure credit card processing page so people can pay instantly.
2. Direct Deposit - Supporters can contribute by making a direct deposit into our bank account.

How does the bank deposit system work?
We wanted to offer the option to pay by bank deposit because there are people don't have credit cards (such as those under 18) or those who feel a little un-easy about entering their card details into a website. (even though our system is fully secure)

After the supporter has completed their scratch, they enter their name, email and phone number and click 'next; they then get given a reference code that they must use when making the deposit. All information about how to make the deposit is made available to them and sent to them by email.

When they make the payment, our systems picks up the reference code from the bank and then allocates this payment to your campaign. Both you and the supporter who made the deposit get notified by email that the payment has been received. It is as this stage that their support message gets loaded onto your Online Scratchy page 'Recent Supporters' area.

Are credit card transactions secure?
Absolutely! We use a fully secured payment gateway through Westpac. The page that receives the credit card details is completely controlled and hosted by Westpac and its affiliated partner DPS. DPS are one of the largest and trusted gateway companies in New Zealand...they supply the credit card services for TradeMe so it is fair to say that they know what they are doing!

When do we receive our funds?
You will receive your funds within 2 weeks of the campaign ending. This is to allow for people to complete their bank deposits and for us to account for and pay the final amount. For longer campaigns, we can arrange for payout's at intervals during the campaign.

Do we need to be registered or certified to raise money with Scratch and Help Online?
As far as we are aware you don't need to be registered. People are fee to donate money to whoever they want. Your contact details will be made available to anyone who wants them.

How do we get people to scratch and help online?
To get people to play scratch and help online and make a contribution to your fundraising campaign you need to get them to your Online Scratchy campaign page.
There are many ways of promoting your Online Scratchy campaign page. Below are a few ideas.
- Email, text, phone and tell everyone you and your group knows throughout the country and the world.
- Include a link to your page on any website's that you have available.
- Ring a radio station and ask them if they would let people know.
- Hand out flyers on the street.

What are the amounts underneath the dots?
The Online Scratchy has amounts ranging from $1 to $5 underneath the scratch off dots.

Is there a maximum a person can Scratch and Help?
A person can scratch off as many dots as they like and the amounts underneath add up in the totals box. They can scratch the entire card if they wish. If they still want to give more then they can come back and do it all again whenever they wish during the campaign period.
